With nearly twice as many professional teams as any other state, California is big league all the way, especially when it comes to football and baseball. But the state’s sports scene goes far beyond, with a diverse lineup of world-class events throughout the year.
In the summer, the LA Angels play in Angel Stadium of Anaheim, the team’s home field since 1965. This iconic stadium offers special features and offerings. Check out the California-centric “A” Wine Cellar wine bar in Section 111. You can even enjoy fine California wine at the game.
- To get the local vibe, hang out by the Trout Farm (Section 101), the designated cheering section for star center fielder Mike Trout.
NBA fans will find plenty to enjoy in California too. The Los Angeles Lakers are among the most famous basketball teams in the nation. California is also home to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Golden State Warriors, and the Sacramento Kings.
Three NHL teams grace the state: the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kings in southern California and the San Jose Sharks up north. With major stars like Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry, the Ducks give their fans plenty of reasons to keep their eyes glued to the home ice in the Honda Center. In 2013 the team added a giant high-def scoreboard and brought in award-winning food vendors like Pick Up Stix. You can also hang out at the open-air Shock Top Terrace, which serves craft beer as well as wine.
